Board Engagement Diversity Initiative Info. Session for Nonprofit Organizations

Join us for an opportunity to learn more about Emerge Broward's Board Engagement Diversity Initiative. 

Board Engagement is a signature program of Emerge Broward that provides insight and experience in nonprofit board service. Open only to Emerge Broward members, the purpose of the Board Engagement program is to provide community-minded young professionals the opportunity to serve on a local nonprofit Board of Directors.

As part of the program, selected participants will receive training regarding the role of a board member, the basics of nonprofit governance, and best practices in board service. We partner with the Community Foundation of Broward, whose experienced consultants provide these training sessions. Additionally, participants who successfully complete the trainings will be matched with a local nonprofit Board of Directors and serve an annual term as a board member.

The matching process heavily considers your need to diversify your board. Whether its attracting younger board members who bring fresh ideas, have specific professional skill sets, come from diverse ethnic backgrounds, or all three – the Board Engagement Program will help you cultivate a board that's truly representative of the communities you serve.

Year after year, Board Engagement participants have proven to be the top talent in our community and bring new perspectives, ideas, and energy to existing nonprofit boards. We are happy to extend the opportunity for your nonprofit organization to apply to participate in the next iteration of the Board Engagement program.
